I've had this phone for almost a year now, and there still isn't anything on the market good enough to pry me away from this phone.
Having come from the desire hd, this phone has practically the same screen size, but due to slightly different dimensions, it feels much nicer in the hand.
As is mentioned in other reviews, battery life is so-so, but just get a 1900mAh battery off eBay which comes with a charger and you're sorted!

Disaster!

I have had my phone for 5 months and after only a few weeks I had to send it back to Vodafone to get the battery fixed after it over-heated. 4 months later I have just returned it again but this time it had to be sent back to HTC in England to be fixed because the WI-Fi shut down completely and wouldn't work, causing the phone to reset itself every hour approximately. I'm so unhappy I will be complaining to Vodafone about it. If they give you an 18 month contract then you expect the phone they offer you to last you 18 months (Providing you don't damage it yourself obviously) and that certainly hasn't happened. I am paying top rates to have a phone with internet and sophisticated features and instead I have been reduced to a 6 year old Nokia that has none of the above. Stay away from this phone!!!

Constantly freezes and reboots, sometimes takes 10 mins to work again, speakerphone is so quiet it may as well not have one and battery is lucky if it lasts one day. I would never buy one again

Joke phone (but not funny)

My first smartphone was the Nokia N96 followed by the N97 - both poorly conceived phones that lacked the cohesive feel of my last phone, the iPhone 3GS. The HTC Sensations is very much similar to the Nokias.
Problems I've had:
- It won't automatically reconnect to my home wifi (iPhone would)
- when you use the camera, it removes the auto brightness setting for the display so the next time you use the phone in the dark, it's blinding
- it's crashed twice and required a battery out reset to recover
- having too many apps open at the same time can cause it to automatically restart
- battery life is very much limited to 1 day (iPhone could struggle to two with same features enabled)
- it's slow to redraw the screen if you try doing stuff quickly
- signal reception is poor (worse than iPhone from my experience)
- it's dreadfully hard to set up in the way you want e.g. it's imported 600 contacts from various accounts (sim, email, facebook)
On the positive side
- screen is good
- camera is great
I'm not an iPerson - I moved to HTC because I was sick of the iPhone thing, the constant updates of iTunes and the limitations on the apps but the iPhone 3GS in terms of user satisfaction is STREETS AHEAD OF THIS.
Hope this helps...

I wouldnt normally write reviews but i just had to do this phone justice!! What can I say.. Beats any other phone in this particular market at the moment. All of HTC services like the new weather widget and HTC Watch are great on this phone. Its great to use, its sleek and stylish, its super quick and HD quality is brilliant, Movies, Football all excellent on this great screen.. Only bad thing i could say is theres no video call option, I dont use this so it doesnt bother me but you can download an app to use this feature if you wish. iPhone?? Keep it..Im delighted with this product.

Fantastic Phone

As the title says this is a fantastic phone. I work in IT and have done so for the last 15 years and I have to say as phones go I would highly recommend this to anyone. The Phone feels solid, the interface is perfect and as far as I'm concerned the display is crisp and very clear. I use it mainly for schedule, emails and text and once you get used to the keyboard you will find it quick and responsive. (Being old school I don't subscribe to text shorthand and the predictive wording really work to write coherent text..) I have alot of exposure to many brands of handsets, tablets, laptops etc through work and I think this 'superphone' definitely stands out. Don't hesitate if you can get your hands on it.

IPhone? What IPhone??

"If you don't have an IPhone, you don't have an IPhone"
That is the latest tag-line from Apple.
Mine is :
"If you don't have a Sensation.....get one!!!!!!!"
A brilliant brilliant phone. Slick, fast, great features. It's your phone to play with and personalise. Endless apps. Calling and texting - simple. WiFi,no hassle.
Find the camera really good too. Game playing is a joy on a nice sized screen, and web browsing is excellent. Quality - awesome, right across the board.
I have a DIFFERENT ringtone for all my contacts. I downloaded MP3's for FREE,and used an editor to fix them up any way i wanted. Without having to connect my phone to a USB,and laptop every time - to sync it all up........as you do with IPhones.
You are not tied down like you are with IPhones, and yes - i did own an IPhone for 18 months. I liked it,but it's not a patch on the Sensation.
Battery isn't great,BUT you can buy higher spec ones online for about €23 - and my word are they brilliant!
Buy it folks. You won't regret it.

Here goes my first online review!
When I got this first it took a bit of getting used to as I had a number of Blackberry phones before that. So I gave it chance!
Three months later I am recharging one of my old phones as I have lost my patience with it. The issues I have with it:
Coverage is shocking - unless you are in an area with constant 3G it is useless. Calls constantly drop, that is when you can make them! Texts come in about 2 hours after they are sent!
Software crashes: While the variety of Apps on the Android Market is great and no comparison to the Blackberry it would crash once or twice as week as I would answer a call or attempt to unlock it. HTC did offer a large update last week which may have helped this. Time will tell!
Battery is only ok, one day from a full charge, but it is a brilliant screen that needs to be powered by something I suppose!
WIFI in comparison to the BBs using the WiFi requires me to step in to hall to be close to router in our home, which defeats the purpose.
The keypad does take quiet a lot of getting used to! The four homekeys at the bottom of the phone have broken my heart, but that's more me that phone. I constantly select one of those buttons when trying to do anything else or even picking up the phone.
To conclude great looking intelligent phone, great screen but for me useless if you want a phone to make calls, text or email. So for me its useless! Unless I want to move into a City to get better coverage.
So I would not be recommending anyone to but the HTC Sensation.
On a positive note my bills must be lower than normal!

I got this phone recently and can only say that ive been absolutly blown away by it! My dad got it on an upgrade and loved it, but unfortunatly there are no hands free kits for it, and sound quality over nokia kits etc is awful. We decided to swap phones (i had an iphone 4) Since then i have loved the phone, it is so much better looking and feeling than the iphone, so much faster and has some great features. Yes, the screen is better on the iPhone but its a small price to pay, plus the camera on the HTC is much better o it evens itself out in my opinion! Overall I love the phone and glad i swapped from the iPhone.

Heard so much about this phone I had to go 4 it... Being a fan of HTC products a while now.. The Sensation is truly a great phone. It's sleek.. feels great in your hand and isn't too heavy but doesn't feel flimsy either. Packed with features. Easy to use.. very intuitive.. for eg. I have chubby fingers so am not quite precise in typing however this guesses the word quite quickly... It also saves any words or slang u use yourself a lot when texting. Battery does need charging every evening but i think you would get a day or so before the battery emptied completely. And that would be with heavy usage. Android market is great.. the camera and Vid recorder are one of the best iv had on a fone. Sound is great with headfones. Ok without. Honestly be prepared to be glued to this fone for days when u get it first.. I would be more then confident to recommend this fone to anyone.

I have this phone 3 weeks and am very happy with it, the new sense 3.0 is very informative with its scrollable widgets and the 3d look when gliding thru your homescreens is visually cool. The battery life is poor especially for the amount of time im using it which is alot but for tha average user it will be fine. To end this review you wont be dissappointed by buying this phone.
